Congratulations Sam and Hannah
Sam Bennet capped off a great season for NYU by taking out the Sunshine Coast Player of the Year.
In typical Sam style he said he was thrilled with the award but is more focused on winning the flag with NYU and showing appreciation for his teamates, including fellow nominee Firas Zein and Coach Shaun.
Hannah Owen earned a unique double for NYU by taking out the Sunshine Coasts female player of the year. This is some achievement as the NYU ladies had a particularly tough season, but it is great reward for a great dedicated club player, coach and club committee member.

Nambour Yandina United JOINS NEW PROGRAM
11 March 2009 Sports clubs such as ours play a significant role in the community and therefore have a responsibility to our members and their families. In recognition of this, the Nambour Yandina United Soccer Club has elected to participate in the Good Sports program.
The program is run by the Australian Drug Foundation in partnership with the Queensland Government – Liquor Licensing Division and Queensland Health - and the Alcohol Education Rehabilitation Foundation. The program has been designed to assist clubs with the responsible management of alcohol and is the only nationwide program of its kind.
As a community based club we believe involvement in this program is a way for our club to promote a healthy and welcoming club culture whilst working to consistently meet our duty of care obligations in regards to alcohol consumption.
To become Good Sports Level One accredited we will address a number of criteria including having Responsible Service Alcohol trained bar staff.
For more information about Good Sports speak to our Club Secretary.
